*UPDATE* We would like to thank repeat customers Mike and Laurie Fruechte of Formal Ventures, from Pipestone, MN, for their purchase of the pick of our 2017 heifer calves. We had a fun time going through the heifers and their dams, with Mike and Laurie ultimately selecting Rouse Abigrace E10 as their pick. E10 is the natural calf from our Brown Revelation X7597 donor cow and is sired by Hard Drive. She is a very high growth heifer with tremendous thickness and capacity, as well as being in the top 1% of the breed for both marbling and REA. We expect she will go on to do great things at Formal Ventures! 

ROUSE ABIGRACE E10

When we learned that the National Red Angus show and sale would be held in conjunction with the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on August 18, 2017, we thought we should be involved. We (especially Dan) have never been big on halter breaking, fitting, and showing. So instead of picking one heifer calf to take to the sale, we decided to offer the pick of our whole heifer calf crop, so the buyer can come and pick out whichever one they thought would be best for their herd and goals. We have never offered the choice of our entire crop with nothing held back like this before, but we decided we could afford to let a top heifer calf go, since we had more heifer calves than bull calves this year, and have more good ones than we will be able to keep any way. We have 51 heifers to choose from, which includes 6 ET calves. These heifers will all be 50K DNA tested and weaned in September, and we would like the final heifer selection to be done by November 1st. The following is a list of all 51 heifers with their birth and weaning weight data and current EPDs with 50K. We have also added a few pictures of what we think are some of the top heifers below the data list. If you would like to come and look through the heifers before the sale, let us know.
